Century City is situated in Cape Town, South Africa and spans 250 hectares. History 

In the 1990s, Century City emerged on what was once wetlands and an estuary. The development's inception dates back to 1997 under Monex Development and currently continues under its new custodians, the Rabie Property Group. 

Among Century City's earliest landmarks were the Ratanga Junction theme park and the Canal Walk shopping centre. Canal Walk, which opened its doors in October 2000, was a pioneering shopping destination, holding the distinction of being the largest mall in Africa and the Southern Hemisphere, with an expansive lettable area spanning 141,000 square meters. 

In May 2018, Ratanga Junction theme park closed its doors following years of financial challenges. The site underwent redevelopment and was reborn as Ratanga Park, a recreational haven for all to enjoy.
